ScaleImg
FAQ
Quick answers about privacy, file handling, supported formats, and current tool behavior.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
Most browser tools run directly in your browser, so your images stay on your device. AI tools may require server processing and clearly say so.
Is ScaleImg free?
Yes. ScaleImg is planned as a free image tool site supported by advertising, with no signup required for core tools.
Which formats are supported?
Browser tools focus on JPG, PNG, and WebP. Server tools add formats such as BMP, TIFF, AVIF, HEIC, PDF, GIF, and MP4.
Why can output size become larger?
Some edits re-encode the image, and format, quality, metadata removal, transparency, or dimensions can change final size.
Can I use processed images commercially?
ScaleImg does not claim ownership of your files. You are responsible for having the rights needed for any image you process or publish.
Why are AI tools marked as later phases?
AI tools require GPU processing, queueing, rate limiting, and extra abuse protection, so they come after the browser-only MVP is stable.
