How to Remove Metadata (EXIF) From a Photo

Strip GPS location, camera info, and other hidden EXIF data from your photos before sharing them.

Why EXIF data is a privacy risk

Photos secretly store EXIF metadata: GPS coordinates of where they were taken, the device used, and the exact date and time. Posting them online can reveal your home or routine.

Removing EXIF re-encodes the image without any of that hidden data, so only the picture itself is shared.

When to strip metadata

Always strip EXIF before posting photos publicly on forums, marketplaces, or social media that doesn't remove it automatically.

The process runs in your browser, so your photo and its location data never reach a server.
