Why blur faces
Publishing photos of identifiable people without consent is restricted under privacy laws in many countries, including GDPR in Europe. Blurring faces is the standard approach for event coverage, street photography, journalism, and social posts where bystanders appear.
Even outside legal requirements, blurring faces is a courtesy that protects the people in your photos from unwanted exposure.
How automatic face detection works
The AI scans the entire image for face-shaped regions and applies a Gaussian blur to each detected area. Multiple faces in a single image are handled in one pass.
Very small faces, faces seen at sharp angles, or faces partially covered by hands or masks may not be detected reliably. Review the result and manually cover any missed faces before publishing.
