How to Crop an Image to a Square (1:1)

Instagram feed posts, profile pictures, product thumbnails, and album covers all look best as a 1:1 square. Cropping yourself avoids the platform auto-cropping the wrong part.

Use the 1:1 preset, position the crop box over your subject, and export — the framing is exactly what you choose.

When cropping to a square, the sides (or top and bottom) get trimmed, so keep the important subject in the middle.

For round profile pictures, crop to a square first, then use the Circle Crop tool.
